解説Loaned Renault dual-mode bus on route 43 in downtown Seattle June 1983.jpg
Metro Transit (Seattle) No. 1050, a dual-mode bus built by Renault and on loan from the manufacturer, in service on trolleybus route 43 in 1983. It is eastbound on Pike Street, crossing 3rd Avenue, at the beginning of a trip to Ballard. Although it was not owned by Metro, the bus was temporarily given fleet number 1050, because it was on loan for more than a year and was tested in service on numerous Metro routes. Metro was considering using dual-mode buses in its then-only-proposed Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel and wanted to evaluate the technology. The Renault arrived in summer 1982, entered service on November 1, 1982, and ran in service for the last time in December 1983. It left Seattle in early 1984.
