English: Inside Goa Gajah, the cave is excavated in a "T" shape that runs back about 9m (30 ft) from the entrance, and then 13.5m (44 ft) crossways. There are fifteen niches cut into the wall; some are long enough to serve as sleeping places, while others may have held devotional statues, like the three lingas seen here. The lingas are carved out of a single block of stone, and each is surrounded by eight smaller lingas (covered up by the cloth, in this photo) around the base.
